I just heard from a friend who is at Lincoln City. He said they ran out of rolls about 1:30 A LOT of unhappy people, to say the least. The rain was minor though. He said it was a good day. DRS

I just got back from Lincoln City. Drove in a driving rainstorm to get there, but the rain was pretty much over by the time we reached the park. We went to the presentation in the amphitheatre but many just waited in line for coins. You could buy up to six rolls. I got through the line twice. As I was walking out of line the second time, they were wheeling the last of the cents out of the Brinks truck. That was probably around 1:15. So, everyone there had the opportunity to go through the line at least twice and some three times. My lovely bride and our two sons went through the line with me the first time (about 1-1/2 hour wait) and then I went through the second time by myself (30 minute wait) while they walked to the car. So, I've got 30 rolls! More to come later - including pictures... Ken

Sounds like a good time KenKat, Love the picture of the Cent. First real one I have seen. just the cartoon version up until now. Looks like the reverse has some nice depth to it.

I was also there; should have known that it was going to be totally different from Hodgenville KY (way more crowded). THOUSANDS of people in line, and like KenKat, I went through twice. Long wait, but I had my MP3 player and games on my phone, so I was good to go! Wish I had people to bring with me, though, so I could have gotten more!

Well I just got back home in Atlanta after attending the Lincoln City Cent release at about 8pm. I really had a great time, but I have to say, I had a lot of doubts. When I arrived in Lincoln City the area came under a severe weather watch. We had thunderstorms and severe winds all night and when I awoke this morning it was just a steady rain. I had thoughts of the release being called off or delayed. I got to the park at 6:45am (park opens at 7am) and there were already about a 100-150 people in line. During the waiting they announced the limit would be 4 rolls. Then just before the release they put it back to 6 rolls. It was about 12:15pm when my wife and I had our 12 rolls in hand. Then decided the line was too long to make a second trip and I wanted to get home at a decent time, so we started the journey home. I met a lot of great people from Ft Lauderdale, Chicago, Utah, and Texas. We had a great time share our love of and for coin collected. I look forward to the next release in Springfield in August.

Thanks KenKat! That reverse is sharp! I love it! Way better than the log cabin and your pic gives it a real bronze look. I can't wait to see the bronze proof of this one!

Yep I just got home about an hour ago myself. I was 6 away from getting my third round when they announced they ran out. Oh well, at least I got mine. I ended up getting 96 rolls and managed to get 60 of them stamped and cancelled 30 black and 30 red. All in all it was a good time. There were a lot more people than Hodgenville for sure! A lot of Amish! One of my boxes: Brinks truck with the last 36 boxes getting ready to come off. Line from the bottom of the hill...it never was short... The secret is out.

Nice pics! So did those guards chase you after you ran off with that whole box? 96 rolls though, wow! You musta had a large crew with you willing to just stand in line all day. =) Did it seem like most of the people there were actual collectors? Or people trying to make a fast buck on ebay? Not sure why anybody else in their right mind would bother to stand in that line. I'm impressed with the dedication to the new cents!

Well, I too just returned from the Lincoln City 2ND Cent release. I went with my son, slept on the premises in a cabin, which was nice, arrived at the Amphitheater@6:45 and there were at least 150- people ahead of me waiting in line, we did 3-trips around and each received 18-rolls, this was not as expected, but I will take them, the place was Jammed, met some very nice people from Ohio, Ill, Ind, Fla, Kentucky, etc, great collectors are from everywhere. I also will post pictures later, 17-Hour return drive, need sleep!!
Now I see that there were other places( closer to me in N Y )that also released coins, NOT a fair , level playing field!! Overall, time well spent, oh, also received a ticket from the " PA - profiling troopers" had my bright lights on!!! I believe you would also, almost hit some deer, some people did, there are no lights on these highways, you can not see and the deer can not see you, saw many in the road, not good!!total 1900-miles
