We're going to need much better pictures to help you. So far, I am not seeing a DDO.

Is it possible to garner a closeup of the date area as to confirm the DDO? Sweet find if you did find one, as I am still seeking one myself

No this is a well circulated cent, not worth the cost of grading. also not seeing any DDO on it.

Here's an example of a worn 1917 penny and a worn DDO 1917 penny. The DDO is extreme enough that even in low grades the splits on the ends of the double 9s can often be readily identified.

Curious One, Why three of the same pics? What attribution number did you think it was after checking all three reference sites? John1

Also, if your interested in taking better quality pictures. Check out the coin photography forum here. Your lighting need filtered so, you don't get that grainy look to them.

@cent, thank you for adding an example of a well worn 1917 DDO. Here is the varietyvista link for this DDO, but with a much less worn example: http://www.varietyvista.com/01a%20L...7PDDO001.htmI'm not seeing that same splitting on the number 9 for your coin though. It is flat from circulation to be sure, but doesn't look split to me. By the way, that last photo of your coin showing a close-up view of the date was really nice.

Curious, I see thickness in the right places for a DDO-001, but also lots of circulation flattening. Well-circulated examples often are missing the split on the 9 in the date, so that's not a deal breaker. But no way to say yes or no based on your photos. A top-notch image of WE TRUST may solve it, but sometime circulation damage is just too much to verify these for certain.

Quote: Curious, I see thickness in the right places for a DDO-001 Looks like 001 to me. CENTR I'm not seeing your first picture as a DDO. Although the second one is. As far as grading, if it's confirmed, it would be nice to have in a holder.
