 Yes, could be a lamination peel, but it could also be a struck-thru foreign object. Nice pictures by the way...

Leaning toward a lamination/planchet-related issue, but strike-though is intriguing. Would love to see the coin in-hand.

 looks like a lamination that came off before the strike. - note how the 9 leans down into the void but the 1 in has barely struck up. Lincoln's jacket is also struck on the missing area.

There's some nice size to it. Congrats.
I agree about the weight being helpful. (To two decimal points)
Laminations tend to have a linear look to them which I'm not seeing.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups. We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

Could be an odd shaped LAM issue. Also thinking a piece of scrap might have been rolled in during the (stocks) rolling process and was struck through, then fell out sometime after strike. Thanks, Doug.
