Hello, I am a newborn baby in the woods when it comes to coin grading or the value of the coins I have. I have been hesitant about sending this penny in for grading because of the soft strike on the reverse at the top of the shield. Am I correct in assuming this pretty much destroys what is a very nice coin otherwise and it isn't worth sending in for grading? Thank you in advance for your opinions and comments. -J

Sorry, I have a microscope that I can't get the entire coin in a photo and I have a cheap phone. Maybe these are a little better, I hope.

Definitely worth grading. Make sure you use NGC / PCGS variety attribution service since there is already a Snow number.

Looks mid-high AU to me. Can't get a feel for the surfaces very well.

Some kind of collar issue?
Obverse strike where it counts is strong.
Reverse strike from 11-3 a little soft...maybe collar related or just a soft strike...?
If the open fields are really that nice and there's still some luster...
AU-58 - MS-63 I'm leaning MS
Beauty!

The copper nickel cents were hard. This one has a great strike. It could be MS. Top of the shield is the only place with some striking weakness.
