I'm new at the coin searchers club. I found a ( what appears to be )a silver/steel 1966 penny. Has some magnetic properties. Real or not?

Could be plated, as it appears some copper is showing through. Weight?

I'm thinking it's plated. What does the reverse look like? Yes, an accurate weight to two decimal places might tell us more.

To CCF! It's real, it's just been plated. PMD. Only worth face value.

Agreed, the cent is plated. I suggest release it back into the wild.

As a new member of your coin-searchers club, you may come across the "gold-plated" Kennedy half. That too will be worth face value.
