Seller images. First one I have seen on the market in awhile. Going to be an expensive one, so want to get your all thoughts. In an older scuffed up PCGS holder.

F12 - If the price is right, I would be a buyer. I am not a fan of old scratched holders as these holders have been in and out of a lot of dealer cases, and maybe the coin was not good enough for anyone to keep.

It might be the lighting but I'm not a fan of the color. This looks VG10 to me also. I don't know if you are searching for a specific grade but Sarasota Numismatics has this date in a NGC G06 holder that I like better the what the images above show. It's $240: https://www.sarasotanumismatics.com...3710915.html

Thanks all. PCGS has this in an F-12 holder. My personal opinion is that it was borderline F-12. Wish I could see this one in hand, the surfaces do look slightly "shiny" to me, but maybe that is just the photo.

@BH1964 - That is a really nice G6, love the surfaces on it. I am targeting F-VF for my Dansco though.

VG10 would have been my suggestion as well. It's really probably VG11. I just can't get to F12 without 100% complete LIBERTY.

Thanks for the update on the F-12 grade. I just seriously disagree with this.

I agree with you, Frog.

I would note that I feel like there has been a lot of market pressure on TPG's by dealers to get more Barber coins into F-VF range holders due to high demand and short supply.

The PCGS grade of F-12 makes a mockery of every grading guide on Barber halves issued in the last 50 years.
