It's a very nice coin. That is just a byproduct of how these coins were made. Planchet defects are very common, it wouldn't bother me a bit, but if it bothers you look for a different one.

Flaw doesn't bother me, but I wonder about the stability of the apparent corrosion spots.

Out of my wheelhouse but I wouldn't call this a planchet flaw but rather a very strong die clash on both sides.

Planchet flaws are normal for this series, so PCGS gives it a lot of leeway compared to other US coin series.
It personally is within tolerance for my liking, although I would wait to find a smoother example with less planchet impurities. Good quality examples are not too rare.

IMHO, this is a great coin, with eye-catching faults and all. That said, I'd grade it AU-50 at best and value it as XF-AU money. Those who look for pristine quality will naturally pass on a piece like this, but this is still a beautiful type coin to me, and it has a story to tell, given the striking anomalies. Stories matter to collectors like me.

I've got a Fugio like that, a little rougher, big ol' planchet flaw (obverse under GIO), die clash on the reverse, I like it so much I made it my avatar <--- Love it!

I agree that it is a great looking coin but personally I would wait for a different one. For me, one of the best features of this coin is that it is one of the earliest instances of the words "UNITED STATES" in coinage. That is the name of our country. The 1783 Nova Constellatios had US inscribed but not fully written out. The reverse planchet flaw cuts across the end of the word "UNITED." I would prefer a coin that shows those words clearly but that's just me.

Great looking coin with a huge die clash. I would be more concerned about the potential corrosion on the reverse.
