This coin has major Die Deterioration and radial flow. I think that makes the notch on the lower left corners of AME much harder to see. Much of this DDR presents like Machine Doubling because the misaligned hubbing is so much weaker than the main devices.

The best place to see this DDR is probably the torch. I can definitely see a separation line running up the left side of a few flames. Between the radial flow and circulation wear, many of the tiny die scratch markers on Wexler are probably gone.

You've got a great eye to spot all these tiny details. I would lean towards confirmation on this coin, but I think due to die state and circulation wear, it could be argued either way.

That's a point that I hadn't considered. Maybe a nudge further towards confirmation.

Well in looking at those pics, I thought that this was going to be straight MD and DDD, but am now very interested to see where we net out on this one.

Spence, I don't have a lot of experience with the Roosevelt dimes but bought a large lot of 60's proofs awhile back and spent a month going through those. In the time I did that, I looked at multiple doubled die listings and found that the listings themselves looked like MD to me. I struggle with the cladded coins in general, but the dimes are the worst, to differentiate, in my opinion.

Left to right: a normal dime (PCGS) for baseline, this dime, Wexler WDDR-001, a 1963-D 10c FS-801 (PCGS).

I believe you can still see the split on the leftmost flame. That effect could also probably be mimicked by Machine Doubling. Given the other doubled features in basically correct proportions, I would say that the case for the DDR is somewhat stronger than against. I do not have a particularly strong knowledge of dime doubled dies, so mine could be a flawed opinion.

Edit: I can see that I made an error zooming on the Wexler example. I accidentally cropped the flame that I'm trying to compare. The FS-801 will have to suffice.

Edit edit: you can see the notch on the corner of the S pretty clearly in all three pictures, though.
