I found this 1984 Quarter with an interesting DDR, the second A in America looks like it was struck twice, you can see doubling on both sides of the A. To a lesser degree on the C.

What do you think? The Overse side has nothing notable.

Hmm that letter A looks a bitt fatter due to circulation flattening I think. I'm not seeing any known DDRs for this mint/date:

Is it possible this is an unknown error. There is doubling in nearly all the letters. As for flattening, I did a side by side comparison, some ultra flattened, some sharp, this one is definitly different. Should I send it to someone else for evaluation?

Thanks.

to the CCF No. This is Machine Doubling. No premium. And just for your information, if it was a DDR it would be a variety not an error.

A wonderful stew of Die Deterioration, with perhaps a pinch of Machine Doubling.
