My CRH experience during the past two years is that for several months I will find almost nothing of value, but then make a nice score (acquiring a large number of silver coins that someone has naively cashed for face value). This is what happened today after a ten-week long drought (since I acquired two customer-wrapped rolls that contained 32 40% sliver Kennedy half dollars).

Six weeks ago, I posted a note explaining I had just learned that a local bank has a branch located in a nearby large retirement community. When I purchased 15 customer-wrapped rolls there, I had hoped that some of them had been cashed in by a resident who didn't realize they were turning in a coin collection. I struck out that time.

Today I called that office and learned they had 20 customer-wrapped rolls of half dollars -- so I gave it another try. I didn't find any silver coins in the first 12 rolls I opened. Then I hit pay dirt, finding many 1964 Kennedy half dollars when I opened more rolls. I eventually found a roll with the hand-written label "66 67 Clad" showing a nice silver ender. That label wasn't exactly accurate: the roll actually contained six Walking Liberty half dollars (!), one 1964 half dollar, nine 1966 half dollars, and four 1967 half dollars. My total haul today is six Walking Liberty half dollars; 18 1964 Kennedy half dollars; and nine 1966, six 1967, and one 1968 Kennedy half dollars. I'm sure that I will visit that bank again.

Great haul and glad to hear that you are heading back to that bank. I'd buy every half dollar they have if you can afford it!
