Yes, this is a Multiple BIE (caused by the long interior die break). This isn't a recent determination. This area of collecting and nomenclature goes back to 1969 with the publication of Jean Cohen's of "THE CLASSIFICATION AND VALUE OF ERRORS ON THE Lincoln Cent".
