1952 Wheat cent with letters on rim and weighs 2.5g. Is this a penny on dime planchette? If not, what is it? I also see DDO, please let me know if it is because I'm still learning. Thank you for you time.

It's been damaged by acid. The low weight gives it away. PMD and not an error. No premium.

Acid damage appears to be a primary issue. Can't rule out someone (or something) grinding off the rim--in addition to the acid issue. If that were a dime planchet, we'd be looking at silver. An accurate weight to two decimal places would be good to know.

Can't rule out, it may have been altered back in the day to mimic a dime. Some thought why spend .50¢ in a vending machine or payphone, when you could get the same thing or result for .05¢. Thanks, Doug.
