Bought this one in an ebay auction for $2.10, clearly identified about the odd feature. I thought it was a gouge at first, but it does not follow a line from the rim, through the T, and into the top angle of the N. It might be a die gouge or die crack that has been partly polished away.

Worth a couple bucks to me to satisfy my curiosity, and it also has nice toning, although that isn't as dramatic in-hand as when it's blasted by LED light in the box.

Interesting, maybe a Die Gouge?

Nice pickup.
With the others

What are those two running from the top of the head to the rim?

What is that on the second A of America? And what is that line behind the head?

It looks like a die gouge.

I just looked, and the line from the head to the rim seems to be just a slight disruption in the toning. Possibly a contaminant prevented toning there, or maybe something rubbed the coin enough to disrupt the toning but not enough to scratch it.

The squiggly thing left of the A is a felt hair from the box. Sometimes those sneak into the photos when I am moving coins in the box.

That's pretty cool looking, you can see it all throughout UNITED. During the stint I spent over on VAMWorld, this was referred to as "die poop".

Makecents, I got a good chuckle out of die poop. =)

I almost thought it might be a die clash removed by polishing, but I couldn't find a single clash on Mad Die Clashes where the rim letters actually clashed.

Anyway, it's a fun coin just for the conversation. Thanks, guys! =)

Congrats on an interesting example.

I'm trying to remember if Mike D. has referred to these types of die anomalies as "Hubbed in debris" or die dents?
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.
