I found this in my change. There seems to be too much damage to be intentional, and you can see in the pictures at least three different positionings of the Lincoln Memorial, e pluribus unum, etc., which doesn't make sense if it was done in a vise. Not a numismatist by any means so any input on this would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. In this case, a rather extreme vise job.

Quote: which doesn't make sense if it was done in a vise True if it was only squeezed once, but it appears as though the coin has repositioned a couple times and then resqueezed.

Agree, obvious backwards lettering on your coin. Evident of a "Vise Job".

Remember to show reverse pictures too - usually the reverse is damaged when the obverse is affected with the squeeze details.

Here is the reverse showing the damage as was stated in one of the replies. I don't get why someone would damage something to the point of worthlessness? Must have been angry that this represented the highest number they could count to!!! Thanks again all.

Damaging coins might be an outlet for anger, but more likely it's done for fun or to deceive.
