That just means your coin was damaged in a similar way.

Could be a thin planchet, but the surface has been altered.

Unfortunately, it's not a thin planchet but it appears to be altered by an acidic environment.

The acid ate away on all surfaces evenly and will make it thinner as well a smaller in diameter.
If you check the diameter, you will find it is probably smaller than 19mm.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
