Sorry @whc, but I guess I'm being a little thick this morning. What is the error on the rev that you are seeing? I'm not seeing any mis-spelled words although the font is a bit wonky (especially the letter H in THE). There is a pretty cool woven texture, but that would seem to be purposeful based on the subject.

Ah yes great point! I completely missed that spelling error. Seems like the one word that they should have gotten correct.

@whc, can you shed a little more light on these medals as this is well outside my area of knowledge? Even if the sculptor/engraver didn't have much English, mis-spelling JESUS as LESUS seems quite odd to me. Are these potentially modern reproductions rather than the original medals?

Claudet Colbert medal by Franz F. Eue (1888-1937).   The word "POPCICLE" is misspelled, should be spelled "POPSICLE". A well-known story.
