I found this 1964 Lincoln Memorial cent in some change I got back from the store is it me or does the 4 look like its off set a bit and also the L on liberty is on the rim if that's even a thing thanks guys for the insight. all hail the ccf

No, just a normal cent. L on the rim is definitely not a thing, all cents of that era had the L close to or touching the rim.

@gru, we normally advise folks that unless letters are starting to fall off the edge of the coin, then there isn't a numismatic premium. I agree with the above statements that this amount of offset is very common and the coin is not worth more than face value.

For a letter to letter/number to be spaced differently than on all other coins of a specific type/date is impossible to be a mint error because of the way coin dies are made. Understanding the process will help someone be able to determine what is and is not PMD or just mistaken perspective.

As to the L on rim, this is a recent ebay fad from people trying to hype up something that is just part of the design (nd or Die Deterioration) while hoping to sucker people out of their money.

Don't feel badly b/c we have a lot of people coming here with similar things!
