That's very cool looking! Seems to be a lot going on here too. Maybe tropicalbats or Mike Diamond will chime in as to when and what happened. Looks like the lam was already gone before strike? Crazy looking at the base, right at the rim where it broke off.

Nice lam. Almost looks like the surface at the bottom might have been scraped down to form the ridge.

very nice lamination! uruman, your usage of the word 'shearing' is confusing me some in the way you are using it. are you saying that you are 'sharing' this coin with us, or do you mean that there is metal shearing going on with the coins you are posting.. (please forgive me, but I'm in a ton of pain from a badly pinched nerve in my back which is running down to my foot, and on top of that I had a huge dental procedure doe the other day and the pain meds may be affecting my thought process)

Quote: .I was thinking delam after the strike You may be right, Greasy Fingers, I'm still in the learning phase of most errors. The only reason I say this, is because LIBERTY looks struck up so well, would not think it would be if the lam came off after the strike.

no worries uruman - just wanted to make sure it wasn't me misunderstanding something in my medicated state.. Quote: My wife's been correcting me for over 40 years and still don't get right ) same here, I usually have to type out something as best I can, wait for the red squidley line then right click to pick the best choice..

Makecents Quote: I say this, is because LIBERTY looks struck up so well, that was the same area that had me questioning if it was a pre or post strike delam. But Abes bust and motto looks post strike... Quote: . apologies my spelling is not the greatest No need to apologize, here I thought you were using the Canadian spelling.

Quote: here I thought you were using the Canadian spelling. I think it looks like a post strike lam myself.
