And I am embarrassed to say I never even heard about counterfeit Morgans until recently well truthfully I would here a rumor or two now and then. Now it seems like there is an explosion of counterfeit Morgans on the Market.
So I'm thinking how many Morgans of mine are counterfeit, I buy a good digital scale and start weighing. I set in on ounces and find none that weigh less than .943 ounces .Am I on the right way ?

Since you have the scale, I would suggest learning how to measure specific gravity and to check and be sure they are 90% silver.

Post some photos of your coins and we'll tell ya real quick if they are real or not. Much easier than buying a bunch of equipment and watching how-to youtube videos.

Many years ago, say the 1970's, Early 80's a sense of Counterfiets were around the coin shops and shows.
I personally collected a Few Fakes, all attributed to China, Being I was informed China can make, Produce all the counterfiet coins, Medals they want, As long as they did Not leave that country.

That was a time where Less than Original Fake coins were looked down upon, Fakes are value-less, No.

They Too have a following, as long as All party's are aware, The products are Fake....

Maybe things have changed but, I see China exporting All they can get away with and Here in America, Is their intended target for such Poor examples, I am talking about Lately I am seeing/Hearing about More and More Fake Morgan dollars, Sad...

These Fake Morgan silver dollars were Always a problem for America, Till the collector's base for these Not Original Coins Grew into a Variety, that people Still seek, Not All, But Some...... Thanks for the Topic, MD
