The coin doesn't look cleaned and has some mint luster. At any rate, it is a nice coin.

I'm thinking this example is suspect. I'm off to check sources...

Please post a sharp, close-in photo of the date and mint mark. Thanks.

Doesn't appear to be genuine.

Looks suspect to me too. Why hasn't a high grade key coin not been slabbed already? Secondly the die chip in the obverse field above liberty and the disturbance at Abe's throat bother me. Thirdly, the middle of the B of v.d.b doesn't appear slanted. I also cannot tell if the top loop of the S mintmark has a lump in it or not. Closeups of the S, V.D.B. and the area at Abe's throat would be helpful.

Would you also be willing to post a closeup of the "N" in UNITED?

Thanks!

Agree it's counterfeit. The mintmark position doesn't match any of the known S positions for the 09-S-VDB, and the dots after VDB appear too large.

As @fortcollins pointed out, the N in UNITED is not a "shallow N", confirming it's not authentic.

I'm in the counterfeit camp. Agree with Zurie's assessment. The mintmark does not match the 4 known positions.

Looks questionable. I can't tell for sure it's counterfeit but the surfaces are "off" like they've been chemically treated, damaging the metal.

Avoid. It would need to be a legitimate TPG holder to even consider buying it.

Too suspicious for me to offer a grading opinion.
