I was about to open a roll of 1960-P UNC pennies from Manufacturers Hanover Trust. But then I thought better of it and decided to see how the experts would go about this if they were me. So what would you do?

If you want to search for known Doubled Dies, you can search the roll. If it was me, I'd open the roll and check for errors and varieties. https://doubleddie.com/305001.html

I would keep the roll intact.

No way I could just sit on it.

I can see it now. Sell it on ebay as a roll, then find out the buyer found 2 sought after varieties.

If I didn't find anything, pick the best out the roll and sell them as singles on ebay.

if you are after a quick buck then sell as is. If you are a collector then search for your treasure. For me, I would hate to always wonder, what if?

You didn't mention if they are large date or small date from what is visible. At any rate I would open it up and search them.

There are plenty of opportunities here. might come up with something nice or even great if you opened it up. or you can sell it off for a nice profit and never know that you gave up. Or you can just sit on it and keep it as is to pass on to family later on..

I agree with most of the comments. No way could I sit on such a 'what if'. And selling it? Not a chance.

How did you acquire the roll? Presumably you bought it to search, but maybe not? If it were me, I would open it, because I enjoy the treasure hunt for varieties.

Tough call, I guess it would boil down to what you paid for it. You can cancel out finding any RPM's . What else do 1960-P cents have to offer that's collectable?
