Well I am in Goshen Indiana and just went to 4 banks and all of them said they are not getting the Lincoln cents.

Did get the new president dollars but n new cents.

Have to call my local bank in PA and see if they got them yet.
Rest in Peace

Same story as the first design for everyone. No banks want them. No banks (as a general rule) intend to order ANY of the new designs (which they would be lucky to get even if they could order just all '09's.....a mixture is what they're more likely to receive....although some banks who "did" order them for their customers, have got whole boxes of '09's of course as per the norm).
Most banks and Fed Resv's. have too large of a stockpile of coins already.....they are just "full", "overwhelmed", and they're just not interested in "ordering" any of the "new coins". Whether that be the Native American dollar, the Territory Qtrs. or anything else. (My bank will continue to get the Presidential dollar for their customers, but have "halved" their previous orders of those too)

The only difference between the LP1 and the LP2 really is that they massively "upped" production of the "two roll Sets" for the LP2 ! ...... (they're just "rolling more" for these which would have ended up in the Stringer rolls of course) ....And I have no reason to believe that this won't continue for LP3 and LP4......if the demand is there.....they're going to produce enough for the demand it seems, despite the announcements of "cutting production" of dimes, nickels, etc.
But I don't know if they actually minted more of the LP2, or if they just simply put more of these biz. strikes into these two roll Sets which would have been sent off to be "Stringer wrapped" since the demand for these was surprising and so large. Hence.....the banks don't want them.....but they saw that "collectors" do/did, so they "altered" some things. I dunno.

The banks who will get these "Stringer rolls", are still going to be few to none as a general rule for most of us at this point in time.
But eventually, of course, they'll begin to "circulate".......so maybe the only quality ones will be the "two roll Sets" ?......but of course many people have been seeing "low quality" '09's with "spotting" and really bad "bag marks", etc. etc. and the two roll sets contain the same coins as the Stringer rolls ......so....hard to say. (I'm still not opening my two roll Sets to find out )
If/once people start opening their Two Roll Sets to look for errors, nice examples, etc. etc......maybe then we'll know if "spotting" and "horrific amounts of bag marks" will be the same or not......it might very well be the exact same quality.
And once the "circulated ones" get to circulating.....it might be that few will be found in nice condition.

Of course the best ones will be in SF from the Uncirculated Sets. And of course the Proof and Silver Proof Sets ! ...... .... THESE little Copper beauties will be just SPECTACTULAR ! .....

I do know that I received boxes of the LP1 from P&D and like Eaglefoot said, they were spotted and had heavy bag marks, till I opened the 2-3 rolls and found some sweet coins. Does anyone believe that the U S Mint rolls will be this way?

I do not think so, I might be wrong, but the rolling machine marks on the bank wrapped rolls from the vendors doing the rolling for the distribution of such(String & son),which are basically on every one of the rolls they have rolled, BOTH ends, I do not see on the Mints rolls, and never have.I see the site at fee bay is getting around $70-80 for the U S Mints LP2'S,per set. WHILE the bank wrapped rolls are on the decline ( around $10-20 ). W/E this will be very interesting when all the dust settles, to see what a complete set of all 4-versions of the U S Mints wrapped coins sell for!!!
PS: I do not believe that we can not get our mitts on the boxes from the banks, now I read the Mint wants to create a "Strategic Coin Reserve" this sounds like the floor could drop out of the coins premium at any time. Imagine this happening back in 1909 and this reserve released years later a massive amount of the 1909's, what effect this would have on the coins premium out there now!!!

I have broken open three rolls of Stringer and Sons formative years from the Lincoln City ceremony and I can say that the quality of LP2 coins I received are pretty good. Most of them have minimal marking and spotting unless you stick them under a 10x loop - and then, it's just little marks.

I have seen some marking on the end coins - probably from the rolling device - but overall they are nice examples.

I also have a couple of rolls of log cabins that also seem pretty nice by me.

This is all based however on the fact that I am probably not quite as picky as some. I highly doubt I could consistently tell an MS65 from and MS64 or MS66. But I do know the 2009 cents I have look pretty nice in their albums.

Why would someone pay this for an item you can order directly from the mint for $8.95 plus shipping?

I don't know. Kind of weird. I hope they stay up around $50 when I get my sets. I will be happy to sell one for that... to make the other four be purchased on the house.

They are currently going for $20-$30, including shipping, on ebay. Occasionally one goes for a few more bucks than that. That is still quite a markup.

Well I had to make a run to the Kroger grocery store for the wife and guess what I got back in change. That's correct 1-LP1 and 3-LP2 Lincoln Cent. I went to customer service and asked if they had more. She went to the office and came back with 5 rolls of the 2009-P LP2. So things are starting to look more promising in regards to seeing them in circulation.
