Hello all, just looking for some grading opinions on this one. Don't have it in hand yet so the pictures are as good as they're gonna get for now. Thanks as always.

MS64. Nice luster and very original. Is this in a GSA soft pack? Pictures are great btw.

Good eye @numismatic student, it is in a GSA soft pack. I'm curious about the damage near the D in UNITED, I look forward to getting a closer look at it.

The nick near the D looks like an edge hit from being in a bag. Remember that these coins sat in bags of 1,000 coins in treasury vaults before GSA packaged them the 1970s. I looks pretty clean and the bag mark seems minor in an otherwise pristine reverse.

That was my suspicion too, though my guess was that a freshly-minted coin hit it on its way into the pile. I also have it at MS64, if not for that hit and the stain on the Obverse I'd be hopeful of a 65.

Excellent MS-64+ Candidate...

All original luster, Awesome Obverse Strong Strike, Very Minimal " bag marks " As prior noted. No Visual Circulation wear None. I see hits from other Morgans, Anna's Face is a Bold, Crisp Cameo vision. The Reverse shows a Strong strike also, Very Sweet Eye appeal. Best Wishes, Thanks for Sharing, MD

the 78(CC) are well known for sharp strikes so yours would be avg for strike. due to glare/lighting you have no idea what the real surfaces look like. hopefully they are as nice as shown here. most of what I see on the cheek is rub along with bag marks. luster appears intact based on the photos. too many marks for a 65 and she looks a little better than a 63. imo the luster will pull it up and place it in the MS64 bucket. nice coin. this one will only increase in value.

repost when you get it in hand just be careful with overhead light and glare and take it out any holder.

But obviously not if it's in an original GSA holder. Nice coin with excellent luster and eye appeal! I'm also at MS-64. Congrats on the purchase!

Thanks all. It should be arriving today, I will try to get some clearer pics (without removing it from the soft pack) and post them this afternoon/ evening.

Ok all, here's some more pics. There's a little more chatter on the cheek than I expected from the seller pics. There's also a decent rim hit around 9:00 of the obverse that I was hoping was a reflection on the soft pack (the marks near 6:00 of the reverse are on the plastic, not the coin). I took close-ups of the rim hit, the "stain" on the obverse as well as the marks around 10:00 of the reverse. Let me know what you all think, thanks as always.
