I need this coin to fill in my Bulgarian collection so I found it on sale online. Seller claims its real but I have my doubts based on the pics:

Bulgarian-5-Lev-1884---Real-Or-Fake?
Bulgarian-5-Lev-1884---Real-Or-Fake?
Bulgarian-5-Lev-1884---Real-Or-Fake?

So coin is obviously damaged as you can see in the corner. My main concern are these points:

Bulgarian-5-Lev-1884---Real-Or-Fake?
Missing corner in letter E, that bump(?) under B, around L; and 4 looks too thick...

also on reverse those edge dots look like they been added where coin was damaged:

Bulgarian-5-Lev-1884---Real-Or-Fake?

So in conclusion, all I have are these pics to go on, also seller said coin is 24.8 grams.
I never worked with this seller, he does not have that many reviews as a seller...

What do you guys think ?

Btw coin is rare and I would love to have it even in this condition but only if its real just those few red flags make my hair go up...

It looks like some of the poorer quality fakes I have of different coins from China.
I wouldn't expect it to be genuine.

Surface in pics appears to be somewhat 'pasty', indicating fake.

Weight and magnet check would help to confirm.
Seller report of weight need to be confirmed.
My gut feeling is:
'not interested, walk away'.

Might be better off looking for another example.

At best this might be an ex-jewellery. Still doesn't look good...

Thanks a lot on your opinion guys !
What got me was almost exact weight that seller claimed and also edge lettering... In my experience all the 25g silver fake coins I encounter are missing the edge lettering...
Anyway I decided not to bid on that one, and hope ill find another one to fit a hole in my collection haha :D

I have fakes that do have edge lettering.
So they may or may not be present.
I have fakes that weight correctly, but other aspects are wrong.
