Coin I had been looking for quite a while and finally pulled the trigger. Pictures are sellers, but I can't imagine I could take a better set!

Seems well struck and centered. Nice chocolate tone. It is marked 'States United' which reverses the name of the Nation. I think the obverse looks MS62-63BN. Reverse looks AU58BN. I would net it MS62BN. Even though the reverse looks slightly rubbed, these were the first federal coinage issues minted in England and shipped in barrels across the Atlantic. Congratulations on a lovely, well-preserved, historically significant coin.

Granted that strike is often weak and/or inconsistent on Fugio cents, this one looks worn to me. I'd agree with XF-45 or so.

Very attractive example for sure. Congrats!

such an amazing history in the early years of the republic. since the copper came from mostly military salvage many of the coins had planchet issue at the get go. strike issues abounded. finding a clean example like this one would be the centerpiece of a collection especially when at this grade which is just superb example. congratulations on the acquisition.

I'm going to admit, I did buy the holder as grading these are outside my skills and I really wanted one for the collection. However the caveat is it had to be centered, lovely color, decent strike and no environmental damage (as seen on my straight graded fugios I looked at). This one fit the bill imho. PCGS said MS63, CAC green beaned it as well.
