I found this the other day, and I am fairly sure it is just PMD. It really looks odd, and all of the damage is containing within the date area. Thought I would share it as it looks interesting.

Yes - a gouge and metal movement = PMD.

That is a great close up picture showing just how much things can be distorted by a hit from another object.

Certainly couldn't have happened during the
striking of the cent so it has to be PMD
