Yes @dear called it--this is a great example of the damage caused by the gumball mechanism. Sometimes it smeared the last digit of the date, while other times it mangled the first letter of LIBERTY.

I agree with Dearborn on the Gumball Machine error.
The coin is in good shape other than the Gbm error.

I agree with Dearborn. Remember, gum ball machine damage isn't an error. It's PMD.

Ok, here's one for you guys that say GBMD, just for thoughts..
If it were a Gumball Machine Damage, why aren't the edges of that cent in worse condition than it shows on the date
