Picked this up as BU in old cardboard flip, 5 and S seem a bit odd is it just MD? Reverse appears weak on lower right Wheat possible Grease Strike?

Pretty cool BU coin!

Appears to be Die Deterioration to me

I believe I see some PIDT on the reverse

Not sure what else might be going on... wait for the experts to chime in.

@some, yes that is a bit odd. I wonder if something was pressed into the surface of the coin between the number 5 and the rim.

IMO between the rim and the 5 looks like a "struck" through of some sort.

Reverse is showing evidence of Die Deterioration (wheat stalk 'stems' leading into a raised 'connective' feature). Might be a strike trough issue just off the 5 in 1935. Is the feature raised or sunken (incuse)?

The area looks incuse/depressed - so I'd agree with the "strike through" theory.
