PMD from a Vise Job. A Dime was used to make the impression. Not an error. https://www.error-ref.com/squeeze-j...-garage-job/

Well, you know me, I have to ask questions:
If it's a vise job why isn't LIBERTY backwards (mirror image)?
And why is LIBERTY so large ?

EDIT: Am I reading this wrong?

Looks like Liberty was etched on coin.

@marv, I was more focused on the arcuate groove on both sides. The extra LIBERTY appears to be surface staining, no?

I was looking at the same thing.

It has all the ear marks of a vise job (a 'sandwich' one with this coin in the middle, but the only marks I se on the reverse is the rim impression and nothing else from the device elements. it is all very strange.

One thing is that maybe the 'liberty' above the date is so large is because the metal has stretched some, but why not reversed?

I guess that would have to be answered by the OP. If it is staining, that has to be some crazy, equally spaced, coincidences....

EDIT: And it's curved that looks like it's on a coins radius! Maybe a dime's LIBERTY? But then that doesn't make sense either.

Radius on coin...incomplete cut (stamped) blank... that's all I got.

As far as the "Liberty"goes.... I'll let Marve figure it out...I got nothin

I guess E&V was right about the dime. Took me awhile but it looks like the leg of the L didn't strike up. You can tell LIBERTY is indeed backwards by matching the bottom of the B and the bottom legs of the R.

Mirror image indeed........
