1999 P 5c Die Deterioration Oddity

I haven't seen this before so maybe I can get some confirmation on what this is. The reverse M and E in AMERICA have been fused together by deterioration it seems. It almost looks like a die chip. Whats the call here?

It appears to be a Die Chip that formed on the letters from Die Deterioration. Pretty cool! Never seen that before.

Now that is extreme Die Deterioration Doubling! Those letters look like their tops got buried in snow.

I would agree with the above. That is some knarley Die Deterioration Doubling, as Bill and Ted might say.
