I found this in a Coin Star return slot at the grocery store yesterday along with almost five dollars worth of other change. It weighs 6.106 gr and I knew immediately that it must be fake. In my opinion, it sure would fool a store clerk or most other merchants.

As counterfeits go, that obverse is better than their average effort. I don't want to educate them by listing the issues and markers openly, but we're all probably looking at the same things right now.

Definitely one for the black cabinet.

Contemporary counterfeit, with an S added on at a later date?

A keeper, for sure.
