Quote: 99.9% of the unprotected Zincolns will disintegrate in time. These abominations should never have been inflicted on us. The US should have ended cent production in 1982.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

I agree with Hondo and JBuck the crap the mint called a cent was worthless after 1982. If you find cents on the ground compare anything after 1982 to before. Modern coinage is mostly ugly and terribly made!

I, too, went to the bank and got the same message that I couldn't purchase any cents for CRH. It seems that this season is coming to a close for cents.

No more boxes of pennies from my local regional bank. They aren't taking orders anymore. Bummer.

Managed to snag 10 rolls of customer wrapped rolls a few days ago--found one average '45 Wheat cent and several mid-90s BU+ memorials.

I'm still able to get rolls of pennies still, but not boxes. It sucks.
Errers and Varietys.

Maybe the banks are just using that as an excuse so they don't have to bother with them anymore?

You're right Hondo.
And as much as I dislike multi-ply plated steel coins, it's time to take the nickel and dime that route.

I have gotten a few 2025s in change recently. But some of the stores in our area have started posting signs saying all cash sales will be rounded up or down to the nearest nickel.

Quote: The true rarities will be the Zincolns remaining in pristine condition due to galvanic corrosion. Kindly don't shoot the messenger. I'm old enough to remember the big marketing era for reprocessed steel cents. Get ready for reprocessed Zincolns to "preserve" them and make them "look better."
