Still a bit sour about this coin. I bought it for $100, but then USPS lost the package in transit. I think the mule clash would have showed up better under axial lighting. Even with the obverse scratch, it would have been a neat coin to add to my collection. Oh well. Documented for posterity.

That stinks! Hopefully they'll find it and you'll get it.

That is a wicked bummer @brand. Hopefully that obv scratch will be diagnostic if this piece ever pops up for sale again.

Give it time. Sometimes it takes a while. Hopefully you get it.

I had a coin lost by USPS for 4 months before eventually turning up.

I hate that. As others have said, maybe it will still show up.

I have yet to have this problem but could imagine that I would not be that calm about it. So good for you Brandmeister cooler heads will prevail . And hopefully it hits your door soon.

that is a sad thing to lose a coin in the mail like that, I had it happen to me, but I stopped at the post office after work everyday until they found in behind a bin in their back room. (I guess they got tired of me coming in and filing a new report..

Well, surprise. The package was recovered, and has arrived intact in my mailbox. Currently sitting on my desk.

Then let's ask the following question:
Assuming the seller wants to sell me the coin, is this a coin that I should re-buy for $95? Or should I refuse delivery and have the coin returned to the seller?

I would not play any games with the seller. Its not his fault the postal service is inefficient and sometimes loses packages. I had a 1909 s Indian head lost for 6 weeks and it magically showed up one day after I had written it off as lost.
