Last fall I was having a casual conversation with a neighbor a few doors down. Coins came up and he told how is grandfather used to give him coins for his birthday in his pre teens. Of course I was eager to see them. He excitedly ran into the house to grab his album and proudly placed it in my hands. My eyes went straight to the Bust Half in amazement. I mentioned I would love to image them if he was willing to take them out. Well that finally happened today - it is literally the first time these coins have been removed from the album in over 60 years. The colors are absolutely incredible - I'm not sure my axial black box images actually do it justice. Here are a few of the more dramatic colorations

Simply stunning toned examples of our nations coin heritage .... thank you for sharing them. I would enjoy 'seeing' via your images what else is in that album.

The encounter with my neighbor gave me an interesting idea for my son's upcoming 16th birthday. While he has always had little interest in my detecting and coin collecting, I'm guessing he might appreciate it a little more when he inherits what I have collected thus far.
I have a number of unused Wayte Raymond Dollar pages. While I know time alone may have allowed most of the sulfurs to escape naturally, I'm hoping the original wrapping on these preserved them enough to encouraged toning. I plan on making him a time capsule - I figure his 50th birthday should suffice.
I'll fill one page with 2023 Morgan & Peace Uncirculated Sets - I have 3 sets still in US Mint capsules so this is perfect. The other page will be filled with some of my better condition raw dollars (Seated, Morgan, Peace). I'm tempted to crack out a Bust Dollar and include but, that is still up for consideration.
I hope I am still around in November of 2059, would love to see the results.
