So what you are observing on this nickel is a problem prevalent on these called lamination peels, where impurities in the sheets of metal alloy that are being rolled out peel off some of the metal. These are 35% silver, 56% copper, and 9% manganese, as nickel was needed for the war effort back then. Report this Post to the Staff
