I first saw one on an ebay auction a few months ago. Then this week encountered one on a Kitco page. You would think that they could have used a picture of an actual coin but instead inflicted this monstrosity on us. The silver chunks look like wads of aluminum foil, and the bars have a distinct Lego appearance. https://www.kitco.com/opinion/2025-...ew-relevance Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

I guess when your focus is selling bullion (or jewelry), you don't care what the actual coin looks like. . .

Looks like AI needs a bit more work before they look OK. The text part looks awful.

My only thought is this ...
If using those kinds of images doesn't hurt their sales, it says some negative things about who is buying.

At this point, anyone can create images of anything they can dream up. I was playing with ChatGTP a while back and got this ancient Roman coin with my dog as emperor.

Quote: way above my capabilities... I want to reassure you that if I can do this - anyone can. There is no special skill involved other than "fine tuning" your request in ChatGTP. I would suggest you go onto that site and play around. You don't have to have a paid version to do this, but you do need to set up a free account. All I did was upload a photo of an ancient coin and a photo of my dog and told the program to create the coin with my suggested legend. A few minutes later, this popped up. It's fun to tinker around, but it can also be addictive - I have to be sure not to stay too long on that site...

It is easy. We built an AI Text-to-Speech server* to create recordings that sound like the lady who does our recordings because she is retiring this year. No one can tell the difference. * Really just a desktop PC with a hefty GPU.
