I'll say AU details, cleaned. The obverse looks dull in appearance. Plus I think I can see black crud around the stars, which tells me it was cleaned at some point.

If genuine, I'd say high VF and previously cleaned. The obverse die markers look good, but the mintmark looks unusually large for a 93-S. Can you post a sharp closeup of the mintmark area? If genuine, great coin!

This is a really valuable coin if authentic, even cleaned as it is.
Is this coin raw? And if so, do you know the die markers to authenticate it?
No disrespect meant in the questions - I personally could not tell if this is real or fake.

You don't mention if you have this coin or not. Can you weigh it, use a magnet, do a ping test to start checking if it's genuine or not? A ping test is an easy safe way to test. Check out the ping tester on Youtube if you don't know about it. A rare coin like this should be authenticated, graded. https://www.youtube.com/@SoundMoneyMetals/featured

The 1893-S Morgan had one known obverse die and two known reverse dies - VAM 1 and VAM 2 respectively. The photo below is the mintmark position for VAM 1 which has an upright mintmark.  The picture below is the mintmark for VAM 2 which has a slightly tilted mintmark.  The picture below is an enlargement of the subject coin. The mintmark looks upright but perhaps it sits too close to the bow and may be too large as smat45 and Zurie have pointed out. Also, in the authentic examples, the mintmark appears to be slightly left of center under the knot of the bow, whereas this coins mintmark appears to be perfectly centered under the knot of the bow. Maybe I'm just seeing things...

Thank you for your reply. I do not own this coin. Looking for one for my Morgan collection. Grades jump lots between XF and AU, so wanted some input so I could make an informed offer on it. With the obverse die marker in Liberty, I did not really pay attention to the MM too close. After doubts being made and this being a raw key date I think I will pass just to be safe. Thank you all again.

I think that's wise. It could potentially be a several thousand dollar mistake. If it were genuine, it would likely be in a slab already.

It appears to be a genuine 1893 P with an added S mint mark. The date position on the VAM 4 1893 P is a close match to the obverse of the 1893 S. You can also check for the rabbit ears die marker on the left leg of the R. -see photo-
