My Coin shop (and I'm sure every other coin shop in the country) has a bargain bucket for all type of coins including Morgan and Peace dollars. The coins all vary in condition and dates (all non key lots of 21 Morgans and 23 Peace). My guy cells them for $14 a piece. I started to grab 1 or 2 when I go in there (when I have the extra cash). Does anyone else do this?

Yes, I have done it for sometime. They have made great starter gifts for my grandson to get him started. I also have sold them at cowboy shoots for the "cowboys' to use as show pieces with their outfits. I have also sold them a Texas Holdem games as card markers. But mostly I just keep them.

They also could make decent contest prizes. I did that once.

For $14 each that is a good price. Go for it!

Dealers don't usually check the bargain bucket coins to closely. Some scarce Vams can be found in them.

A lot of the 21 Morgans look uncirculated

The Shop that I work in also has a "Cull" Morgan box. The coins range from AG to VG ( I have seen better grades and worse in there) BUT...The VAM picking can be good if you do some research, I have scored some very good coins from the Cull and Circ Morgan bins. The Circ bin (VG- VF coins) is $17- but I got My "Donkey Tail" 1887 from there probably a $2-300 coin. Just this week I found an 1891-O with the monster "E" Clash in the cull bin (To be posted later this week ) The research is made easy by VAMworld, but remembering all of the varieties and their markers can be a daunting task to say the least ! The "Bargain Bins" at this particular store do not have vary many dollars in them, but they do have most everything else. If I only had the time.....

I do go through the bargain bin! I found a 1923 Peace with the double Tiara paid $13.50 for it, also a 1900 Morgan with the double date and doubled stars to the right and paid $11 for it. Im glad I'm not the only one that does this!

Wow, I would take all war nicks I could get at 40c. You can sell them for at least 75c each.

I know for 30 bucks I walked out with a roll of WTN and a very nice 21 Morgan...Can't beat that... And the best part, I asked if he has seen any of the new Lincolns in circulation and he gave a P and D log cabin...Made my day.

I check the bin all the time. A few weeks ago I found a 1922-P VAM 1F (reverse field break) in AU-50 to AU-55 condition for $14.50. It's going to PCGS tomorrow. The best part is that the dealer asked what I was doing and said "do you think you're going to find anything in there that we missed?". He was a bit of a smart you know what in the way he said it. Oops!

We usually put 20 of those in a roll and sell them as 90% Silver Bullion Related Coinage. Now I wonder if we ever got rid of anything of value.
