It looks like at least an MS-65 and the steps look full. I see some micro-chatter on the cheek and a few very tiny spots (carbon spots?) in the reverse field. These are so small they should still be acceptable at maybe an MS-67 level. Tiny defects like this often look worse in a photo than they do in-hand.

Depending on the population reports, it may be worth it. What are the approximate values for FS coins grading from MS-65 through MS-68 in, say, a PCGS holder?

Jaobler,
Thanks for your input.
Dark spot @11:00 appears to be a carbon spot, the lighter on at about 10:30 seems to be a water spot. (on reverse) The cheek chatter is only visible with just the right lighting.
Again thanks for your input.

this coin will only make five steps by the standards which are accepted .

I can see a 66 here , but 67 is questionable based on a couple of important focal areas , the hair on the obverse and the triangle on the reverse .

its a beautiful coin but IMO not going to produce the 67 or above that would make it worth the grading fee's , however if you have a free submission then whats to lose ?

Medium Strike
MS66 (maybe MS67) when compared to the auction lot below
5 Full Steps .... Beautiful nickel
The dies were reworked in 1941.
Full step nickels from all mints in 1941 are not rare.
I would bet this would be the returned grade from PCGS or NGC.

Compare this MS67 Phila mint 1941

Thanks for all the input.
Some times one is blinded by the beauty and luster of ones own coin in person. Thanks to all for your unbiased opinions.
