I see a slight bit of wear on the rays and on the edge of the shield. I'd grade it at AU-58. I like the die cracks and what appears to be a Cud under the date.

Beautiful coin...even though slightly marked on the reverse(5 cent)side, I would grade this coin MS-61 or 2...enjoy!

I don't see why it wouldn't be a 63 or 64 if the luster is there.

I think some axial lighting might help here! ;-)

It comparable to my PCGS MS-63 example, with perhaps an even better reverse strike. It could be an AU-58 but I'd bet on MS-63 or possibly MS-64. It's a nice one for sure!

Looks like it has die cracks at "In God" on the obverse. That might hold it back some.

Ok this is a good example for me to learn from. I see what looks like die cracks too, but what about the letters and the date, could they be doubled die? I want someone to please explain to me so I can understand the doubled die thing better. I am pulling coins out of my searches all the time and wondering if they are or if they aren't. so maybe you can explain what I am seeing.
Really nice coin!

This one came back as a MS64 from PCGS. The reverse is one of the strongest I have encountered, hence the reason I bought it. The Cud below the date, the die gouges throught the "R" in TRUST, and die cracks really add a lot of character to this coin's obverse.

MS-64 sounds about right. It's funny, though your pictures don't show the reflectivity of the luster, I can tell there is luster there by the texture of the skin of the coin now that I look close. Luster, especially on older coins I've noticed has a distinct graininess to it when examined really close.

You see I see the area on the rays as wear and I would have said AU-58. But that is weak strike so MS-64. Someday I will learn to tell the differnce between weak strike and wear.
