I have my current set of Mercury dimes in a Dansco album and I was thinking about ordering a slipcase and 2 supplemental printed pages to house the upgrade set that I'm currently working on together with the current set. I was looking at my Dansco album and it looks like there is definitely room for one extra page and there MIGHT be room for 2. Has anyone tried adding 2 pages to this album or another 5/8" Dansco album? I've never added pages to any of these and I just want to make sure it will work before I place my order. Otherwise I'll just go with 2 separate albums, but I think it would look nice to to have all of my Mercurys together in one big book!

Thanks!

The smallest (skinniest) Dansco albums (5/8") can hold four pages.

You may notice that the two page Mercury dime album is the same size as the four page Eisenhower dollar album. For the record, I added two Half Dollar pages to my two-page Franklin half dollar album.

Thanks! That's what I wanted to hear!

I was just going to buy a whole new album, but I really want them all together. Plus it's less expensive to just buy 2 pgs & the slipcase and have exactly what I want! Looking forward to having everything set up just like I want it :)

I have also found you can usually add two additional pages to your coin album. (It's not real streamlined after that but it will fit).

I have several albums with 2 additional pages in them. It's nice to have extra space for spare coins, etc.

Thanks! I picked up a really nice (used) Dansco album at the coin store today for $7...I'm going to yank the pages out of that one and add them to the one I already had. Should work just fine for what I'm working on and it was even less expensive than buying the pages! Plus, if I decide I need another album in the future, I just have to buy more pages, not a whole book...this one was basically like-new!

Well, I got all 4 pages into one Mercury dime Dansco album and I really like the look of it! Now I just need to get to work on my sets...still 2 to go to finish off my low grade set (21d and 16d HA!) and I've got a solid start of three on my XF/AU set! It's probably going to take me just as long to do this one as it has for the low grade one, but that's all part of the fun :)

That is exactly what I do with Whitman Albums. I have several Mercury dime Albums where there are two sets in one binder. Plenty of room for spare sheets of paper saying things like Set #3 with hotations about special purchases, etc. Also, if a coin came from a slab, the little sticker from the slab goes onto that sheet. I've ordered blank pages for dimes and put them in some of them and since the blank pages have more spaces than required for the Mercuy Dimes, I added the follow up Roosevelt dimes in thoes also. Another idea I've done is to make one Dime Album from Liberty Head Dimes/Mercury Head Dimes and Roosevelt dimes all in one Album. Of course doing this means to leave out errors and proofs.
Many of the Whitman Album Covers are large enough for lots of expansions. All my Lincoln Sets have 10 pages for all coins from 09 to whenever. I'm thinking of doing the same or similar with other coins too.

That's a great idea! A set of good honest circs on the
first 2 pages, and a set of blazers on the last 2 pages.

Nice!

I think you have inspired me to do that with my Franklins!
Right now I am just building the album, but with a mix of
circs and blazers, it is very unbalanced and I know I have
several already that will be upgraded in the future. Like
this, I could just put the circs directly in one page, while
putting the blazers straight into the other. Franklins seem
very easy to put together in circs, so the album will
technically be finished earlier that way!
