what do you think should be in their but do not have a whole for. I think that it should have all the different types of Seated quarter, dimes, and halves(EX: Seated quarters a hole for 1838-1865, 1853 arrows and rays, 1854-1855 arrows, 1866-1891, and 1873-1874 arrow) what do you think.

I have several gripes but most notably in the coppers.
With the large cents I personally feel there is a huge difference between the different liberty heads. Early Matrons, and Braided are completely different but lumped into a single slot. Draped and Classic are recognized but Liberty are just all considered the same.
As for the quarters, it is similar to the dimes. Our collecting habits recognize subtle differences such as you mention about arrows removed, then put back and so fourth but as far as true type, it is not a new or different type. Just a variation in style that has some back and fourth. A-to-B-to-C, but then back to B...not D as we mentally want so we can create that extra hole.
At heart we as collectors want as many tiny varieties represented, but such as dimes with/without arrows is not NEW, just a switch back.
Not sure if I am making my point clear but I see what you mean.

I agree with RFB about the arrows removed and then put back. However, even taking that into consideration there are five distinct types of Seated Liberty quarter. The 7070 also does not distinguish between all the varieties of Seated dime. And don't forget the trimes. The 7070 has a hole for one trime when there are three varieties.

I would add the Type 1 Bust Dime and Type 1 Bust Quarter (large diameter), the no stars Seated dime and Half Dime, and the 3 cent silver varieties (3x).

I would think because of the newer coins they will have to make some changes maybe they will change the older selections too. I would hope to see Westward nickels, Presidential dollars, 2009 Lincoln cents 2010 cent. And I am sure we all want a spot for 2009 territory quarter.. and state park quarter. I have wanted to put a dime and half from silver proof set .. but current wording (clad) stops me from doing it. (although having a 1996 W for clad dime works for me too) Does anyone know if the Intercept shield coin album has the same coin selection?

I think Intercept shield has spaces for the westward journey nickles and some of the other newer stuff, but the pre-2000 arrangement is pretty much the same as the 7070

Adding arrows and then removing them is not a case of a "switch back" because the new coins are struck to a different weight standard than the old coins. So for the Seated quarters you had the heavy coins 1838 - 1853, the light weight arrows and rays, the light weight arrows no rays 1854 -55, then the light weight no motto coins 1856 - 1865, then the light weight with motto coins 1866 - 1873, then the heavy weight 1873 - 74 arrows with motto, and finally the heavy with motto coins 1875 - 1891. The old Whitman folders used to have holes for all of these.

I just picked up an old Whitman United States Type Set - Small Coins - (Whitman 9434 copyright 1960) from a coin shop today and it has quite a few openings than the modern Dansco does not have. Here are the ones that are different than the Dansco: Half Cent1793 1794-97 Large Cent 1793 (Chain) 1793 (Wreath) 1793-96 Three Cent Silver1851-53 1854-58 1859-73 Half Dimes1794-95 1796-97 1800-05 1837-38 1838-60 Dimes 1796-97 1798-1807 1809-1828 1837-38 1873-74 Quarters 1796 1804-07 1815-28 1873-74 There is a separate volume for Half Dollars and Dollars which I don't have. It looks to be quite a challenging set. I don't think I can tackle it, but I thought maybe someone on here might like to try.

nolawyer, there is a good reason why the Dansco 7070 does not have a number of the coins you listed- it is designated as a 19th and 20th century type album. Also, I would never purchase an album that had holes for Draped Bust Half Dimes through quarters, those coins are basically unaffordable to most(including me) in decent condition and I would refuse to spend $400+ on a used and abused AG3 In regards to the three trimes, large diameter Busties, no stars/no drapery Seated coinage, and 1873/4 arrow coins, I am in complete agreement

I lack 11 coins of being complete Half Cent through silver dollar. The first three Half Dimes, the first dime, the first quarter, the first two halves, all the early dollars and one of the Seated dollars.

Bummer for elongated coin collectors! An original (of course!) elongated penny from the Columbia Exposition of 1893 has recently been offered on ebay. That was the first recorded penny pressing machine.
