I was wondering how type set collectors are handling modern coins such as the Statehood Quarters and Presidential dollars. Are you collecting just 1 state and 1 president or all of them?

I have my type set, with a silver proof Michigan quarter. Because I was born in Michigan.
I also have complete set of P & D State Quarters and I am working a set with proofs and silver proofs.

I would not say I collect State Quarters because I also like type coins. I know there are many on here that don't like all the new quarters. But I do like them. I like seeing the new designs and it is nice that a very high grade set can be put together at a reasonable expense.

I'm focusing on filling the earlier type coins first because they seem to keep climbing the more I wait, but when it comes time for these newer coins it would probably be Jefferson Dollar and whichever State Quarter I think is the favorite. It is probably North Dakota.

For my type collection - one of each. I have some sets of the State Quarters and pick up the presidents as I find them but these are not as important to me as the type set.

Most people I will assume collect their own State Quarter. One is all that is needed for a type set I would assume. I know that i'll be doing this whenever I decide to start on my set lol!
