Well I am a fan of off hand shots .... before 4 cups of coffee. Both are well taken and the one question that I would love to know is how many photos where taken of each one. (just doing so cost averaging) if the answer is 3 to 2 meaning 3 solid out of 3 -vs- 2 solid out of 3 , Then what way be better comes down to 2 things. The first is are you always setting up (tripod) and the second is are comfortable shooting off hand!

My guess is (B) is off hand and (A) tripod both are stable shots #Well done#

Did you use a timed shot(automatic delay) so the vibration would settle before the camera automaticly takes the shot,
Naturally--I used the best methods to get a clean shot with a tripod, or by hand. I'll provide more details at the end of the contest. Thanks for playing--and good luck!

Now for some more info on the two shots:
A. Shot with the camera attached to a very sturdy gitzo tripod with 10 second timer. I took 3 shots, and used the sharpest one.
B. Shot hand-held. I also shot 3 and picked the sharpest. Both A. and B. had equal amounts of processing, although on B. the contrast is a little higher, which may give the impression of greater sharpness. Obviously, both shots are very close in terms of overall sharpness. But if you look closely, you might notice small details on B. have slightly more blur. Thanks for playing!
