This is a fantastic looking coin. Are the scuff marks and hairlines on the coin or slab? Details look prooflike to me. I'm going to say PF-63. If the marks are on the coin it will drop the grade a little.

Very beautiful, but if it is in an orange ANACS holder, my guess would be AU50 details, cleaned.
Rest in Peace

Sure looks like a proof strike with sharp details and definite cameo contrast on both sides. The hairlines are unfortunately pretty obvious. They would limit the grade IMO to no better than PR-62 CAM and more likely PR-60 or PR-61. Hopefully the hairlines are less noticeable in-hand and the coin was awarded the higher grade.

It's not PCGS who generally is pretty conservative when it comes to Seated proofs. I'd say PR62 but I will guess the slab says PR63.

The ones I like are the PR25, PR35 etc. Look at the price of a PR30 1856 FE Cent! I wish I can go back in time and slap these people silly!

with allot of proofs its the die that makes it look like the coin has been cleaned when in fact it is polishing lines in the die because they are making the fields like a proof should be but when they did the polishing they left polishing lines which transfers to the coin when struck

Bryan1315 is correct about the die scratches! if you look at the picture attached from one of the higher grading services, it is a PR 65 and has the same fine lines in the surface of the fields. Albeit not as prevalent on this coin but the closer you look the more you'll find. About 14% of the proofs during this year were believed to have the same issue and some are trying to get these anomalies set apart as a separate variation! That would be cool...

I'm probibly wrong but I would say PR-58. Wear on left breast and thigh and left breast. I also would have said cleaned until I read Bryans post.

Is it in an NGC slab? If the hairlines are not on the coin, then PF64 was a conservative grade.

that's what I have been told time and time again! When I get the coin in hand then I will know and I will take better photos and pictures. It is in a old PCI holder and is graded PR 64. I have purchased many things off of this guy and I've never had to return anything, one coin I had a problem with and we adjusted the price with the next coin. So we will see and you will know, God I hope he's right it is beautiful!
