@wrestling_135, its not too often people bring older coins but they will bring in their Kennedy halves with the occasional silver in them. Silver is in a little dry spell here atm nothing in my till or my boxes. Last piece o' silver in my till was 6 days ago (nice little 62 dime.) Box #3 last night, no silvers but I did find a nearly uncirc. 74 s dime with a nice cameo. On the other hand I spoke to the newspaper lady the other day and she is going to start saving her quarters and letting me search them before she banks them. She is willing to let me keep %50 of what I find as long as I replace them and roll them for her. She had said she ran into a bunch of "old" ones, so lets hope for the best. Good luck and happy searching everyone, ~David

$55 in customer rolls had a 1951 dime! I picked these up alongside about $10 worth of pennies, which yielded me 4 wheats (oldest was a 1940, and only one from the 40's) but one of the rolls had a dime in it, so that's an added bonus.

Went to the bank and got $100 in dime rolls, but when I got them I noticed that they were all new 2012 rolls. I asked if there was any older rolls, but the teller said there wasn't. Is there anything I should do about this/to prevent it? This is the bank I almost always go to and the last 3 or 4 times I've gone they have mostly had/only had new rolls. Well anyway I'm keeping a couple rolls so that I'll have extra cash one day when they are (hopefully) worth more then $5.

@DimeHunter: Only suggestion to to go to a different bank, and lay off that bank for a while. Happened to me where the only rolls I was getting was new 2011 Ds. I'm guessing that was th box they were going through.
I hit a different bank for a week, came back, and was back in business.

So I went to a different bank today and I was able to get some rolls without any problems. None of them were new rolls, so I think I'm going to be using this bank for a while. Also, they are the only place in my city that I know of to have half dollar rolls, so thats a bonus. Got $70 in dime rolls and $90 in cwr halves, got skunked on both, but I'm still glad the rolls weren't 2012.

Did another $40. No silver nor proofs.
Also, are off-center strikes only worth a premium if the devices fall off the edge? (Like mis-aligned dies?)Because I've found a few dimes that were slightly off-center.

Found a 1964 under my car seat yesterday while cleaning out the car. That'll teach me to play with coins in the car.
