Congrats on the Barber, CoinRumbles! I have yet to find a Barber of any denomination... which reminds me, I think it's time to see my cute barber next week for a haircut!
CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!

Do I save this or open this!? I asked my local Credit Union for one roll of dimes and this is what I get.

Find out if it's a clip or damaged, I'd say yes, they're only clads anyway, worth 10c each...

I showed the roll to a local coin shop longtime employee who is the go-to guy for errors and rarities. He identified it as a clip. I was wondering do I keep the roll intact as you see it. Or do I break it open? One of the young employees at the coin shop gave me the idea to keep the roll intact.

I would open it because I would want to see the coin myself. Profit is the last thing on my mind though.

I am going to take your advice jbuck since I have no intention of selling the roll or the coin inside. I was thinking long-term.

Unfortunately that coin is not clipped. It is snipped with a pair of tin snips post mint.

Oh, man! Good thing I went inside the roll so I didn't have something worth nothing sitting around for decades. Was it tough to tell from just the edge? Two separate coin dealers valued it from .75 cents to $1 judging it from its edge. One seemed so sure it was a clip.

Every clip that I have found has vertical shear to it. Straight through and only from one direction. If I see one where the edges are angled then there is a problem.
