Dime Roll Searching

I finished my first ever box of dimes yesterday, came up with 4 silvers:

1956 D
1961 D
1963 D
1964 D

Got about 3/4 through the rolls with no luck, but plenty of excitement in the last few. I am definitely hooked!

I am working on pennies and nickels as well, and focusing on those for sets, for now dimes will just be for the silver action.

Thanks jbuck, definitely a lot of fun, it would have been a bit discouraging to get skunked right out of the gates, haha!

I have already ordered another box for next week

Did a box of dimes yesterday. I was halfway through the box and hadn't found any American dimes, I was thinking that this box was somebody had already searched this box. Then I found a UK 5 pence, so I thought ok they just mistakened or didn't notice that it was foreign because the portrait of the queen is similar to that of the Canadian dimes of the 90s. But you never know so I kept searching. About 10 rolls later, found a 1962 silver dime!
Then near the end of the box found another UK 5 pence. I'm thinking that whoever searched the box may have just edge searched for the American dimes and was thinking that there is no more silver to find. The UK coins are thicker but maybe he didn't care about those. I'm glad I didn't give up searching even though it looked grim.
So moral of the story, even if the box looks to have been picked clean, don't quit, finish the box, because you never know!

Well, I finished up my second box of dimes today and got skunked, so far a 50/50 average, not too bad all things considered.

On the up side, I found a 1944 Wheat penny in my change today, score!

I went through $200 in CWR dimes this evening, and came up with the following:

Four common Lincoln Cents in one roll, who even thinks of doing that?

But later in the stack, three rolls each with one silver line peaking out.

Two Roosevelt's:

1949-D
1961-D

And lastly, a pretty nice (to my uneducated grading eye) Mercury dime!

1941-S

I am super stoked about the Mercury, while not a rarity, in pretty nice shape for 76 years old coin plucked from circulation, and not too far from where it started out (I'm in NorCal).
