Wish the price would dictate it's a key...

I think the term key is used for the lowest mintage number of a series and not the value ! The 1931S LWC is cheaper then some LWC with higher mintage as 1914D and 1909S .the same with the 1922D that worth more then a 1926S or 1915S etc .

Yeah, its a "key" in roll hunting cause they made less thus its harder to find them...that sounds about right

Hi guys! Dimes are my favorite coin to search through, I've never had much luck with halves or quarters, and the majority of my coin collection consists of Mercury dimes, although I've never found any in circulation. I'm surprised by the number of mercs you guys find in circulation...seems like a lot. I work in a bank, so I see thousands upon thousands of coins, and haven't seen one yet come through my bank. Haha

Surprised you've never seen one dude and to the Dime Searchers. I have only ever found 2, but I've searched thousands of $$ worth of dimes, remember it is all about VOLUME as everyone else will tell you, you need to search immense amounts in order to find stuff.

I had a monster find today for dimes. Now what's interesting is that this was found at the same bank I found two rolls of silver halves months ago. The teller told me she had some old dimes and quarter she wanted to get rid of and I peeked over the counter and saw that they were full of silver. I bought the $15.75 in coins and when I examined them later, I was stunned:
*49 silver Roosevelts and get this, one 1899 Barber! This is my first Barber from circulation!

I've never had much luck with dimes since I completed my Rosevelt set. I think I found two mercury's in the last year. Is it worth getting into boxes or should I just play the odds and get CWR's?
