Thanks for looking. I have a new camera and so far very impressed with the quality of the photos.

Nice pics.

XF45. Obverse looks like it has enough luster for an AU grade but I think the gouges in front of Liberty's chin and lips brings it back down.

There is some wear on the beads around the neck. The gouges on the obverse are going to lower the grade a bit. Details look to be EF-40.

Very nice coin.
What is the camera and the set up.
I wish my pics were nearly as good.

I have followed excellent advice given by SuperDave and bought a Canon T1i. I have also recently purchased a copy stand that provides an excellent stand for the camera and lights. It will take some time to get the full use of the camera but these photos were more or less out of the box and using automatic settings. I am finding, however, that not all coins photo the same way. I am really struggling to get good photos of my Mercury dimes as they all look "polished" when photo'd and some may be but I don't think all are!

I agree with EF. Wear on feathers and ding in front of lips holds it back

It's not complicated enough yet.

Obverses and reverses do not photograph the same way. Using your Indian as an example, if you used, say, 1/60 for the obverse, you'd need 1/40 for the reverse to get the same look.

Morgans, on the other hand, are "brighter" on the reverse so the obverse gets a longer exposure for the same result.

Dizzy yet? We got lots more.
